Yeager Airport is located near the Elk and Kanawha rivers and has all the ingredients to produce upslope fog. Prevailing West winds push the moist stable air from the nearby Elk River up the side of the airfield and onto the runway. Over the years, this has delayed or canceled thousands of flights, despite Yeager's claims to the contrary. To see a video of this click here.
